antioxidant tulip and sweet clover dark honey

Our honeys are produced with natural and chemical-free beekeeping techniques. Amber in color and more robust in flavor than lighter honeys, our Tulip and Sweet Clover Dark Honey comes from the nectars the honey bees collect during the summer including linden, tulip, and crimson, white and sweet clover nectars. Research shows that darker honeys contain a greater amount of antioxidants than lighter honeys.

antioxidant highlights

Honey contains antioxidants and provides you with certain vitamins and minerals. Primarily honey has been used as an energy source, but recent research has examined the use of honey as a superfood that helps an athlete's performance. One antioxidant in particular, pinocembrin, which is unique to honey, is currently being studied for its antibacterial properties. Honey also contains flavonoids. Other reports indicate honey is effective at inhibiting Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. Research indicates that honey's unique composition makes it useful as an antimicrobial agent.*

* Although our founders, both cancer survivors, believe that antioxidants made a difference in their treatment outcome, the foregoing statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and while antioxidants are being studied for a variety of potential health benefits, antioxidants have not yet been proven to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

This is pretty good honey. Ive only tried the dark because I read that research proves that darker honeys contain a greater amount of antioxidants than lighter honeys. In the forum there is an article on this.
