antioxidant highlights

Honey contains antioxidants and provides you with certain vitamins and minerals. Primarily honey has been used as an energy source, but recent research has examined the use of honey as a superfood that helps an athlete's performance. One antioxidant in particular, pinocembrin, which is unique to honey, is currently being studied for its antibacterial properties. Honey also contains flavonoids. Other reports indicate honey is effective at inhibiting Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. Research indicates that honey's unique composition makes it useful as an antimicrobial agent.*

* Although our founders, both cancer survivors, believe that antioxidants made a difference in their treatment outcome, the foregoing statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and while antioxidants are being studied for a variety of potential health benefits, antioxidants have not yet been proven to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Wonderful!

Posted by Jenifer Rosenberg on May 16, 2007

This was such a treat - it was sweet and clean, not cloying and thick. I used it on cereal, in tea, and in salad dressing and marinade. I did go through the entire jar in three days, but it was the best honey I have had in a long time.

Pretty good. I would give it a 10, but it's small - the darker honey is a lot bigger.
